When the world came to a standstill during the COVID-19 pandemic, access to basic food supplies became a real challenge for many Malawian households. But from that crisis, a new solution emerged in the form of Nkhwachi Food Supplies.
Nkhwachi began in April 2020, sourcing vegetables, beans, and rice from local farmers and delivering directly to families in need. What started as a small home delivery operation quickly grew into something much bigger.
Recognizing the opportunity to empower farmers and ensure food access, the founders formalized the business in February 2022. Today, Nkhwachi supplies major institutions like hospitals and schools across Mzuzu.
